We are thrilled to announce that this year a record number of people attended Lavender’s Lunch with over 120 enjoying good company, delicious home made food and plenty of wine in the garden as well as savouring the last of the summer sunshine while raising a much needed funds for the church repairs.
At the lunch Richard Wolstenholme (Fabric Officer at St Martin’s) was also able to announce that the PCC had been successful in securing a generous grant from Heritage Lottery Fund which will enable repairs to begin on the nave roof starting in the next few months and finishing by Easter, when it is hoped to have the first service in the church after an 18 month closure.
The Rev Adrian Bell thanked everyone for coming to Lavender’s Lunch and said that he was looking forward to seeing them all at the reopening of the church in Spring 2018.
Thanks to the Watton and Swaffham Times for featuring the event for us and giving us more publicity
