Lavender’s Lunch is Back!
What better way to celebrate life starting to get back to normal than coming to College Farm on Sunday 5th September for Lavender’s Lunch.
Although life will never be quite the same again, we feel it is time to reinstate Lavender’s Lunch and invite you all to join us from 12.00 noon on Sunday 5th September.
Tickets are £12.50 each for a delicious homemade 2 course lunch & glass of wine or beer. Tables will be socially distanced [as ever!]. Tickets are available in advance from Katharine (01953.483.318), on the website or on the day at the gate.
After much consideration we are raising the cost of tickets this year from £10.00. All money raised goes towards the cost of maintaining the fabric of the church: for obvious reasons we have been unable to do any fund raising over the last 18 months & our objective of replacing the rainwater drainage and repairs to the chancel roof have been significantly delayed. We get no financial support from the diocese. Please come & support us & enjoy a popular social event and our efforts to maintain our beautiful village church.
If we can’t maintain our church then we are at risk of losing what has been at the centre of village life for many hundreds of years. We need to keep it open so it can continue to serve our community and be there for the important milestones in our lives. During a two week period in July we had 2 weddings and 2 funerals at St Martin’s. Whether or not the families worship at St Martin’s, the church (& Adrian Bell, despite being in his 2nd retirement) were there to provide support to those concerned. We are fortunate to have Joy Fernando until at least the end of the year to continue the good work that Adrian started.
Please come along to support us and enjoy a lovely day out in a Norfolk garden with your friends.
